Owned by the same family for the past couple of centuries, Quinta da Silveira boasts 70 hectares of vineyards with the best varieties used for the production of Port and Douro DOC wines. Winemaker Rodrigo Martins enjoys using traditional methods including grapes crushed by feet and fermented in traditional open tanks (lagares) using only natural yeasts.
Rich tawny colour, with an excellent nose of nuts and hints of mature fruit. On the palate this is a light and delicate port, beautifully rounded and sweet, with hints of dried fruits, and a long elegant finish. Received 17pts from Jancis Robinson at our fine wine tasting in November 2018
