Owned by the same family for the past couple of centuries, Quinta da Silveira boasts 70 hectares of vineyards. Winemaker Rodrigo Martins uses traditional methods including foot trodding (when grapes are crushed by feet) and fermentation with indigenous yeasts to produce wines of the highest order.
Aromas of dried stone fruit and citrus on nose with notes of green apple. Medium to full-bodied with a good concentration of fruits and a textured palate well-balanced with a vibrant acidity.
Pale greenish gold. Really interesting, well-developed blend with no hint of heat but a lovely waxy texture and pungent green-fruit notes with quite enough acidity. A lightly blossomy note on the end. Great stuff! 16/20 points- Jancis Robinson
