Owned by the same family for the past couple of centuries, Quinta da Silveira boasts 70 hectares of vineyards. Winemaker Rodrigo Martins uses traditional methods including foot trodding (when grapes are crushed by feet) and fermentation with indigenous yeasts to produce wines of the highest order.
Rich with plenty of red berry fruits and some complexity. Juicy and sweet on the palate, this is a delicious ruby port. Please note this port is unfiltered.
Mid garnet. Masses of character here! This is very far from a regular Ruby Port. You can taste the oak ageing and there is a much wider range of flavours than just sweetness and alcohol. But the palate is much fresher than the nose. Sweet liquorice and long finish – the charm is all on the end. Long! But I'd drink sooner rather than later. 19.5% 16/20 points- Jancis Robinson
