2016 Résonance Vineyard Pinot Noir from the Yamhill-Carlton AVA in Willamette Valley, Oregon, USA available in bond.
Résonance Vineyard is Maison Louis Jadot’s first foray into Oregon with its growing reputation for excellent Pinot Noir. Résonance Vineyard practice dry-farming and planted these Pinot Noir vines on un-grafted rootstock in 1981. The Yamhill-Carlton AVA is entirely within the Willamette Valley AVA and is an area well-known for its old soils with marine deposits, protected by a rain screen from the Oregon Coast mountains to the west. With the assistance of Maison Louis Jadot and their light touch honed over 170 years of winemaking in Burgundy, Résonance Vineyard is producing wines that boast a natural elegance and complexity, unveiling an immense character, with the “somewhereness” of this original site.
2016 was a warm and dry growing season that led to the perfect conditions for maturity. The grapes, hand-picked and hand-sorted at the beginning of September, were ripe offering well-developed flavours. Maceration revealed a concentration and intensity in the wines that are well balanced in 2016, with a nice aromatic complexity and harmonious tannin structure.

Vivid ruby color. High-pitched red and blue fruit and floral pastille scents pick up hints of toasty oak and minerals with air. Fresh and energetic on the palate, offering concentrated black raspberry and boysenberry flavors and a bracing, refreshingly bitter suggestion of cherry pit. Finishes silky and appealingly sweet, with harmonious tannins, a hint of vanilla and strong, spicy persistence.- 93 pts Josh Raynolds, Vinous
There’s a wealth of rich, spicy oak across ripe red cherries here, as well as an earthy edge. The palate has vibrant, youthful and crunchy, red-cherry flavors.- 93 pts James Suckling
Fresh, ripe and admirably pure aromas feature notes of black cherry, violet, spice and a hint of lavender. There is fine volume and mid-palate concentration to the delicious, succulent and plump medium-bodied flavors that possess a really lovely mouth feel.- 91 pts Allen Meadows, Burghound
