Set in the cool climate area of Adelaide Hills, Sidewood is continuously receiving high praise from leading critics including James Halliday who has consistently given them a five-star rating. Made by award winning winemakers whose CVs include top wineries such as Penfolds and Shaw & Smith, their wines are elegant yet complex.
Carefully hand picked in the early morning to retain acidity only the best grapes from the estate make it into the Mappinga Series. Vibrant and spicy with notes of liquorice and dark chocolate. The palate is intense and concentrated with rich flavours of blackberries, plums and white pepper. Full-bodied with grippy ripe tannins. Awarded a Gold Medal at World Wine Championships Tastings.com in 2018.

Hand-picked, fermented with 25-50% whole bunches, or crushed and destemmed, matured in French oak (35% new). In Adelaide Hills terms is full-bodied thanks to its rich display of blackberry, dark cherries and plum, which dome with licorice, black pepper and spices. The tannins are firm, but in balance.
