Valserrano is a long established family Bodega located in the best part of Rioja, and is gaining a reputation amongst Rioja’s best, receiving high score from renown wine critics. The Monteviejo vineyard was planted over 70 years ago with 95% Tempranillo and 5% Graciano and Granacha. The fruit is carefully hand harvested and then aged for 24 months in new French oak barrels.
The result is a wine that is powerful yet restrained with redcurrant and blackberry fruits on the nose and impressive balance, concentration and power.

Finca Monteviejo is a superb clay and sand-based vineyard that has been in the de Simón family since the late 1940s and is planted with 95% Tempranillo and 5% Graciano. Aged in new French oak, it's their most international style wine, with scented wood, youthful, aromatic bramble and blackberry fruit and the freshness of the Atlantic-influenced 2016 vintage. 2022-30- 95 pts Tim Aitkins Rioja 2020 Report.
