This family owned estate was founded by the Viu Manent family in 1935 and now grows grapes on over 250 hectares, including many excellent sites, with old vines planted on the high slopes of the Central Valley hillsides at 150-280m altitude. Winemaking here is aimed at fresh, pure expression of varietal flavours.
The Reserva Chardonnay has fresh aromas of exotic fruits, green apples, melon, and mandarin orange. The palate shows tremendous freshness, balance, fruity, and very good volume and a subtle mineral touch. No heavy-handed use of oak here… think Chablis from a ripe vintage or unoaked white Burgundy…clean, crisp and classy.
Chilean still white wine from Colchagua Valley Chile, made with Chardonnay.
Viu Manent, owned by the Viu family, was founded in 1935 in Santiago de Chile by Miguel Viu-García and his two sons Agustín and Miguel Viu-Manent. In 1966 Miguel Viu Manent fulfilled his long-time dream of making his own wines when he acquired the Hacienda San Carlos de Cunaco in Colchagua.
This traditional estate includes 150 hectares of vineyards planted to noble, pre-phylloxera vines, as well as a winery and manor house.
