En Primeur Volnay 1er Cru Champans Joseph Voillot is not yet released for sale. Please email firstname.lastname@example.org and ask to be added to our En Primeur email list.
Admired by all of the up and coming wine makers, Jean-Pierre Charlot (Joseph Voillot’s son-in-law) is something of the grand master, most probably because at some stage he will have had a hand in their wine making education. A charming, ebullient man whose wines are designed to last the long term. They are finely balanced though and can be approached young, not his preference but he knows full well ‘chacun son gout’ (we all have our own tastes). We are lucky to have any of his wines to offer as yields in recent years have been severely limited due to hail damage.
“One of Neal Martin’s and Allen Meadows’ top-rated wine-makers in Volnay and Pommard, Jean-Pierre Charlot has produced a set of exemplary wines in 2017. This beautiful Volnay Champans will require at least five to ten years in the cellar. The concentration and depth here promise a magnificent wine to those who can wait.” Davy’s Wine Merchants, November 2018.
