Warre’s was the first British Port company established in Portugal and is famous for its classic Vintage Ports, alongside its Quinta da Cavadinha Vintage Port, released in non-declared years, and consistently rated amongst the best in blind tasting events.
Characteristically elegant, full bodied with a firm finish from powerful tannins. With concentrated fruits and well integrated alcohol with a spicy, peppery sweetness.
The 2000 Vintage Port is more complex than the Late Bottle Vintage and gives up terrific notes of ripe plums, black olives, tobacco leaf, and Asian spices. This gives way to a medium to full-bodied, textured, balanced Port that has terrific fruit as well as length. It’s drinking great today, holds up nicely with extended air, and should shine for another decade or more.- 92 pts Jeb Dunnuck, JebDunnuck.com
