    Warre’s was the first British Port company established in Portugal and is famous for its classic Vintage Ports, alongside its Quinta da Cavadinha Vintage Port, released in non-declared years and, consistently rated amongst the best in blind tasting events.

    With ripe black fruits, pepper, spice and toasty aromas this is a concentrated and structured wine with good tannins and great finish. To be kept.

    Black pepper, sealing wax, spices, and toast are found in the nose of the potentially exceptional 2003 Warre Vintage Port. A concentrated, backward effort, its youthful, classically ungenerous, masculine character reveals black pepper laced dark fruits. Silky-textured in its immensely endowed mid-palate, this top-flight effort displays an admirably long, tannin-filled finish. It will require serious cellaring

    About the producer: Warre’s

    Warre’s was the first British Port company established in Portugal. Founded in 1670 by two Englishmen, William Burgoyne and John Jackson, the firm gained few more partners through time, including William Warre in 1729 who will give it its name. By the end of the 18th century, Warre’s had become one of the leading Port shippers and accounted for 10% of all port shipments. Owned by the Symington Family, it is famous for its classic Vintage Ports, alongside its Quinta da Cavadinha Vintage Port, released in non-declared years, and consistently rated amongst the best in blind tasting events.     Vineyard & Winemaking

    Grapes are sourced from owned estates; Quinta da Cavadinha (46 hectares), Quinta do Retiro Antigo (40 ha), and Quinta da Telhada (35 ha) but also from other vineyards, owned privately by members of the Symington family; Quinta do Alvito (35 ha) and Quinta das Netas (5 ha). Warre’s continues to make some of its Port by treading in stone ‘lagares’.

    Wines Produced

    Alongside Vintage ports, the firm produces a range of White, Ruby, Tawny and Colheita ports, signature style Warrior and Quinta da Cavadinha Vintage and award winning Bottled Matured LBV and Otima 10 and 20 year old Tawny.

    Returns

    SALE OR RETURN is available by prior arrangement only and for orders of 96 bottles or more. All returns are at the customer’s expense. Returns must be made within 28 days of original delivery and goods must be in a resalable condition. We reserve the right to only refund up to 25% of the original order. For further details please contact customer services 020 8858 6011.

    CANCELLATIONS can be made within seven working days from receipt of delivery, provided that all wines are unopened and in their original condition. To cancel an order customers should contact the Customer Service team on 020 8858 6011 or email orders@davy.co.uk. It is your responsibility to keep the wines safe and in their original condition until collection is made.

    TASTING CANCELLATIONS – full refunds can only be made where at least 7 days’ notice is given prior to the event date. Refunds will only be given after this time if we are able to re-sell your tickets. In the event that a tasting is cancelled, Davy’s shall offer customers a full refund.
