    Hosted by our WSET qualified tutors, the WSET Level 2 Award in Wines is the perfect wine course for beginners wishing to learn about a wide range of grapes and styles. These fun and informative classes take place in the comfortable surroundings of our Greenwich shop on Saturday mornings, from 10am to midday over eight consecutive Saturdays. Internationally recognised, the Level 2 Award in Wines is one of the most popular qualifications for those entering the wine and hospitality trades, but is also a great option for those who would simply like to learn more.

    During the course you’ll learn how to taste with over 40 samples from around the world, gaining enviable knowledge of the principal and regionally important grape varieties of the world, the regions in which they are grown, and the styles of wine they produce. The Level 2 Award requires 16 hours of tutored learning and 11 hours of personal study and revision.  A one hour, 50 multiple-choice question exam will take place on the final Saturday.

    Saturday 15th January – 9:45am to 12:00pm
    Session 1: Induction; Tasting Technique; Wine and Food Pairing.

    Saturday 22nd January – 10:00am to 12:00pm
    Session 2: Factors influencing the production of red wines; Pinot Noir, Zinfandel/Primitivo.

    Saturday 29th January – 10:00am to 12:00pm
    Session 3: Factors influencing the production of white, sweet and rosé wines; Riesling, Chenin Blanc, Sémillon/Semillon, Furmint.

    Saturday 5th February – 10:00am to 12:00pm
    Session 4: Chardonnay, Sauvignon Blanc, Pinot Grigio/Pinot Gris; Gewurztraminer, Viognier, Albariño.

    Saturday 12th February – 10:00am to 12:00pm
    Session 5: Merlot, Cabernet Sauvignon, Syrah/Shiraz.

    Saturday 19th February – 10:00am to 12:00pm
    Session 6: Gamay, Grenache/Garnacha, Tempranillo, Carmenère, Malbec, Pinotage.

    Saturday 26th February – 10:00am to 12:00pm
    Session 7: Cortese, Garganega, Verdicchio, Fiano; Nebbiolo, Barbera, Corvina, Sangiovese, Montepulciano.

    Saturday 5th March – 9:00am to 12:00pm
    Session 8: Sparkling wines; Fortified wines.
    Exam – 60 minute, 50 multiple-choice question

    When placing your order you can request for wines to be signed for when delivered or left in a safe place if a specific instruction is given. Please note that we cannot accept responsibility for any subsequent loss or damage which occurs once the consignment has been left.

    Wines ordered before 12pm should be delivered within 48 hours (working days). If for any reason this is not possible, we will contact you to let you know.

    Returns

    Sale or return is available. All goods returned must be in a reasonable condition and only unopened cases will be accepted. A minimum collection charge of £7.95 will be applied to all sale or return orders.

    Any damaged bottles must be reported within 48 hours of delivery. A full refund will be given on receipt of the damaged bottles.

    Orders may be cancelled up to seven working days from receipt of delivery provided that all wines are unopened and in their original condition.

    To cancel an order customers should contact the Customer Service team on 020 8858 6011, fax details on 020 7716 3366, or email [email protected] It is your responsibility to keep the wines safe and in their original condition until collection is made.

    In the event of customer cancellation full refunds will only be given if we are notified at least 7 days before the date of the event. Refunds will only be given after this time if we are able to re-sell your tickets.

    In the event that a tasting is cancelled, Davy’s shall offer customers a full refund.
