    Hosted by our WSET qualified tutors, the WSET Level 2 Award in Wines is the perfect wine course for beginners wishing to learn about a wide range of grapes and styles.

    These fun and informative classes take place in the comfortable surroundings of Davy’s Wine Vaults on Tuesday evenings from 6.30pm to 8.30pm over 8 consecutive Tuesdays. Internationally recognised, the Level 2 Award in Wines is one of the most popular qualifications for those entering the wine and hospitality trades, but is also a great option for those who would simply like to learn more.

    During the course you’ll learn how to taste with over 40 samples from around the world, gaining enviable knowledge of the principal and regionally important grape varieties of the world, the regions in which they are grown, and the styles of wine they produce. The Level 2 Award requires 16 hours of tutored learning and 11 hours of personal study and revision.  A one-hour, 50 multiple-choice question exam will take place at the end of the course – date to be confirmed in first class but likely to be on the last day of the course.

    Session 1: Induction; Tasting Technique; Wine and Food Pairing.

    Tuesday 21st January – 6.30pm to 8.30pm
    Session 2: Factors influencing the production of red wines; Pinot Noir, Zinfandel/Primitivo.

    Tuesday 28th January – 6.30pm to 8.30pm
    Session 3: Factors influencing the production of white, sweet and rosé wines; Riesling, Chenin Blanc, Sémillon/Semillon, Furmint.

    Tuesday 4th February – 6.30pm to 8.30pm
    Session 4: Chardonnay, Sauvignon Blanc, Pinot Grigio/Pinot Gris; Gewurztraminer, Viognier, Albariño.

    Tuesday 11th February – 6.30pm to 8.30pm
    Session 5: Merlot, Cabernet Sauvignon, Syrah/Shiraz.

    Tuesday 18th February – 6.30pm to 8.30pm
    Session 6: Gamay, Grenache/Garnacha, Tempranillo, Carmenère, Malbec, Pinotage.

    Tuesday 25th February – 6.30pm to 8.30pm
    Session 7: Cortese, Garganega, Verdicchio, Fiano; Nebbiolo, Barbera, Corvina, Sangiovese, Montepulciano.

    Tuesday 4th March – 6.30pm to 8.30pm
    Session 8: Sparkling wines; Fortified wines.

    Exam – 60 minute, 50 multiple-choice question – date to be confirmed in first class

    Returns

    SALE OR RETURN is available by prior arrangement only and for orders of 96 bottles or more. All returns are at the customer’s expense. Returns must be made within 28 days of original delivery and goods must be in a resalable condition. We reserve the right to only refund up to 25% of the original order. For further details please contact customer services 020 8858 6011.

    CANCELLATIONS can be made within seven working days from receipt of delivery, provided that all wines are unopened and in their original condition. To cancel an order customers should contact the Customer Service team on 020 8858 6011 or email orders@davy.co.uk. It is your responsibility to keep the wines safe and in their original condition until collection is made.

    TASTING CANCELLATIONS – full refunds can only be made where at least 7 days’ notice is given prior to the event date. Refunds will only be given after this time if we are able to re-sell your tickets. In the event that a tasting is cancelled, Davy’s shall offer customers a full refund.
