Volnay Joseph Voillot 2016, Case of 6x75cl IB

Volnay Joseph Voillot 2016 is available to purchase.

Admired by all of the up and coming wine makers, Jean-Pierre Charlot (Joseph Voillot’s son-in-law) is something of the grand master, most probably because at some stage he will have had a hand in their wine making education. A charming, ebullient man whose wines are designed to last the long term. They are finely balanced though and can be approached young, not his preference but he knows full well ‘chacun son gout’ (we all have our own tastes). We are lucky to have any of his wines to offer as yields in recent years have been severely limited due to hail damage.

“This village wine is superb this year, bursting from the glass with a creamy bouquet of red and black cherry, violets, incipient forest floor and a subtle framing of new oak. On the palate the wine is cool, precise and velvety, with excellent concentration, depth and dimension. 90 points.” William Kelley, www.decanter.com, October 2017.

Offered for sale, in bond. Price shown is per case (6x75cl bottles) and excludes delivery, UK duty and VAT which will be charged at the prevailing rate when the wine lands in the UK. Please note, no further discounts apply to fine wines purchased online in bond.  Reward points do not accrue on fine wine IB orders, nor may they be used to purchase fine wines.

“The most brooding of Jean-Pierre Charlot’s Volnays, the Champans reveals savoury aromas of plum, cassis, cherry, grilled meats and rich soil. On the palate the wine is very concentrated and full-bodied, with a deep core of vibrant fruit and a rich framing of ripe tannins.
