Product description
Our claret is carefully selected and blended by Chairman James Davy alongside Maison Sichel of Bordeaux. Sourced from various plots lying on clay-limestone soil well exposed to the sun. Grapes are machine-harvested with a low yield of 42 hl/ha. Fermented with natural yeast in stainless steel. Matured for 6-9 months in the same vessel. Fermentation in temperature controlled stainless steel vats at 26-28°C. Gently pressed using pneumatic press. Part of the blend is aged in new oak barrel. Expressive aromas of ripe black and red fruits with hints of exotic spices. Equally charming and fruity, the palate is full, rich and warm, supported by silky tannins, a sign of great maturity of the grapes, with a fine fresh finish.
Open, fragrant fresh bell peppery bouquet, alluring and aromatic. Good levels of warm ripe blackberry fruit on the palate with spicy mellow tannins in the background. Shows maturity, well rounded with no awkward edges. The fruit, tannin and acidity are nicely integrated, each playing its part, but working perfectly in harness together. A well developed, classic style traditional red Bordeaux with structure and poise - charming, elegant, and classy; plays well above its weight. This Davy -Sichel collaboration really hits the spot
