    Product description

    Driven now by the same values that drove us in 1870, our own-label wines are as important to us now as they were then and we’re excited and proud to release our 150th Anniversary bottling of our Own-Label Claret.

    Carefully selected and blended by Chairman James Davy alongside Maison Sichel of Bordeaux. We’ve used beautifully ripe Merlot and Cabernet Sauvignon from the excellent vintage 2019, and we’ve dialled back the use of new oak to allow the wine to shine in its youth.

    Open, fragrant fresh bell peppery bouquet, alluring and aromatic. Good levels of warm ripe blackberry fruit on the palate with spicy mellow tannins in the background. Shows maturity, well rounded with no awkward edges. The fruit, tannin and acidity are nicely integrated, each playing its part, but working perfectly in harness together. A well developed, classic style traditional red Bordeaux with structure and poise - charming, elegant, and classy; plays well above its weight. This Davy -Sichel collaboration really hits the spot

    About the producer: Maison Sichel

    With their 350 hectares of vines, Maison Sichel is a true winegrower and winemaker. In its constant quest for improvement, Maison Sichel works with respect for quality and authenticity of their different terroirs. The story began in 1856 when Hermann Sichel set up a wine merchant business in Germany. The next step was to open a buying office in Bordeaux in 1883, and today Maison Sichel has remained a family business with the sixth generation in charge of the estate.

    They own many estates including Château Palmer (partly owned), Château Angludet and Château Argadens in Bordeaux but also Domaine du Trioll in the south of France.

    Returns

    SALE OR RETURN is available by prior arrangement only and for orders of 96 bottles or more. All returns are at the customer’s expense. Returns must be made within 28 days of original delivery and goods must be in a resalable condition. We reserve the right to only refund up to 25% of the original order. For further details please contact customer services 020 8858 6011.

    CANCELLATIONS can be made within seven working days from receipt of delivery, provided that all wines are unopened and in their original condition. To cancel an order customers should contact the Customer Service team on 020 8858 6011 or email orders@davy.co.uk. It is your responsibility to keep the wines safe and in their original condition until collection is made.

    TASTING CANCELLATIONS – full refunds can only be made where at least 7 days’ notice is given prior to the event date. Refunds will only be given after this time if we are able to re-sell your tickets. In the event that a tasting is cancelled, Davy’s shall offer customers a full refund.
