New Zealand
The first vines were planted in New Zealand over a century ago, but it was only with advances in wine technology during the 1970’s, that New Zealand wines started to generate real interest. Benefitting from a wide range of soils and microclimates, New Zealand offers a variety of wine styles but gains plaudits around the world for its Sauvignon Blanc from Marlborough and Central Otago’s Pinot Noir. Increasingly New Zealand Chardonnay is also gaining a reputation for excellence. Great wines are also produced in Hawkes Bay and Waipara and offer great value. Read more…
