Product description
Syrah vines are planted on Waiheke Island, with an average vine age of 25 years. These vines produce low yields of 25-35 hL/Ha, and all grapes are hand-harvested to ensure quality. Small-batch fermentation and is pressed directly to barrels. The wine is aged for 12 months in French oak barrels, with 30% of the barrels being new. Pilgrim was New Zealand’s first wine ever made with the classic ‘GSM’ Rhône blend. Aromas of black plum and blueberry with hints of violets and spice. Concentrated on the palate with ripe tannins well-balanced by a soft acidity and a long finish.
