    Product description

    This wine is a tribute to Florentina, Josep’s mother. The vineyards are located in Capçanes, Montsant DO. Vines from two plots aged between 75 and 100 years old. Grapes are hand-harvested. Once grapes are destemmed, they are transferred to a concrete tank of 5,200 litres for fermentation. After fermentation, the wine is pressed and transferred to an oval foudre made of Austrian oak from Stockinger for 12 months.

    Enticing aromas of raspberries, strawberries with subtle dark roasted notes and hints of caramel. Complex layers of herbs, wet stones, and forest floor. Pure finesse with silky tannins and undertone minerality. Great length and a complex aftertaste.

    The pale, aromatic and elegant red 2021 La Florens has great purity, floral aromas and the best Garnacha perfume. It has a serious and austere palate with a fine thread, tight and balance, with very fine, elegant tannins. But it doesn't lack power or clout and comes in at 14.6% alcohol that is unnoticeable. It comes from two old plots on limestone soils and fermented in raw concrete with indigenous yeasts for 25 days with a soft daily pump-over. It matured in oval 2,500-liter Stockinger foudre for nine months. It is harmonious, balanced, elegant and characterful. 12,358 bottles produced. It was bottled in June 2022.

    Josep Grau Viticultor is the personal project of Josep Grau Closa, who swapped the life of a stockbroker for that of an oenologist and winery owner. Since the project’s inception in 2003, Josep has bravely forged his own identity as a wine maker who is totally committed to his wonderful and wild surroundings. With a house style which is far removed from fads or trends, rather a commitment to authentically reflect Montsant’s unique terroir through varieties like Garnacha and Carignan.

    SALE OR RETURN is available by prior arrangement only and for orders of 96 bottles or more. All returns are at the customer’s expense. Returns must be made within 28 days of original delivery and goods must be in a resalable condition. We reserve the right to only refund up to 25% of the original order. For further details please contact customer services 020 8858 6011.

    CANCELLATIONS can be made within seven working days from receipt of delivery, provided that all wines are unopened and in their original condition. To cancel an order customers should contact the Customer Service team on 020 8858 6011 or email orders@davy.co.uk. It is your responsibility to keep the wines safe and in their original condition until collection is made.

    TASTING CANCELLATIONS – full refunds can only be made where at least 7 days’ notice is given prior to the event date. Refunds will only be given after this time if we are able to re-sell your tickets. In the event that a tasting is cancelled, Davy’s shall offer customers a full refund.
