En Primeur Chateau du Tertre 2016 is now available for sale
Du Tertre is planted to 52 hectares (of which 18 ha are biodynamic) with 43 % Cabernet Sauvignon, 33 % Merlot, 19% Cabernet Franc and 5% Petit Verdot. The vines were planted between 1961 and 1965 and average yields are between 35 and 45 hl/ha. The vinification is in tanks: concrete, wood and stainless steel. Ageing is in 100% French oak of which 45% is new.
“A dense and tight red with currants, blueberries and hints of walnuts. Changes from pure fruit and then back to wet earth. The purity in the cabernet, the linear tannins and the drive with acidity behind it makes it one of the best Tertres ever. Better than 2015?” – 94/95pts James Suckling, March 2017
“Dark with the usual sweet oak nose. Just a little dead on the palate. Round and very well worked tannins but just a little short of freshness. Drink 2023/2040.” – 16.5+pts Jancis Robinson MW, April 2017
Offered for sale ‘En Primeur’, in bond. Price shown is per case (12x75cl bottles) and excludes UK duty and VAT which will be charged at the prevailing rate when the wine lands in the UK.
