Product description
En Primeur Château Figeac will be available for delivery or storage once it lands in the UK, usually two years following the en primeur offer.
Château Figeac originates from an ancient estate that traces its roots back to the 2nd century when a Gallo-Roman villa was built on the estate and named after a Figeacus.
The estate is the largest Saint- Émilion and its wines have often been described as the most Médoc-like in Saint- Émilion due to their high Cabernet content. The 40 hectares of vineyards lie on deep, Médoc-like gravel topsoil over a flinty, iron-rich subsoil and comprise 35% Cabernet Sauvignon, 30% Merlot, 35% Cabernet Franc. The estate has been managed by Comte Eric d’Aramon and his wife Laure since 2010. It is located in the northwest of the appellation with its vineyards adjoining those of Cheval Blanc.
The alcoholic fermentation takes place in wood and the malolactic in stainless steel. The wine is matured in 100% new oak barriques for 18-22 months. Ideally, the wines need at least 10 years-bottle ageing to show at their best.
En Primeur pricing is per case as specified and excludes UK duty and VAT, which will be charged at the prevailing rate when the wine is released from bond for delivery. Bonded storage is available. Onward delivery or transfer is not included and can be quoted for on request. Free delivery on orders over £100 does not apply to bonded or en primeur wines.
