An informal walk around tasting of over 70 wines and an opportunity to meet some of the wine-makers and people behind the wines, as well as ask questions and advice from our Fine Wine team and our Master of Wine, Martin Everett. Wines on show will include the magnificent range from Grower Champagne house, Dumenil, a strong selection of Burgundy & Bordeaux from villages level to Grand Cru and Cru Classé and many more from across Europe and further afield. Denise Adams, owner of Grand Cru Classé St. Emilion property, Château Fonplégade, will be showing off an impressive vertical of recent vintages.
Our exciting exclusive, new to us for the Bordeaux primeurs earlier this year, Ch. George 7’s wine-maker and owner Sally Evans will be showing her 2017 & 2018 and we’re also delighted to welcome Miguel Merino to Davy’s, owner of Bodegas Miguel Merino, one of the most prestigious wineries in Rioja, frequently ranked by critics amongst the top producers in the region.
Hot USA property Realm Cellars successfully launched their 2016 ‘The Bard’ (99 Points WA) with Davy’s earlier this year and we’re delighted to be able to give our customers a first taste of this and two other exciting wines from the USA.
This evening will also see the launch of a brilliantly exciting new single vineyard Semillon project from genius wine-maker Rikus Neethling of Bizoe Vineyards in Stellenbosch. Launching three Semillons from two single vineyards, Rikus’ aim is to rival the wines of the Hunter Valley. Following conversations with Bruce Tyrell at Tyrell’s in the Hunter and realising through his research that many of the original Semillon vines in the Hunter came from Cape, Rikus has been on a mission to create fascinating wines with huge potential for ageing. We expect these wines to sell out on the night; definitely a Fine Wine release not to be missed.
