Discover the wines of Château Grand-Puy Ducasse, one of Bordeaux’s most loved properties, located in the iconic Pauillac appellation. There isn’t a more fitting venue for this event to take place than The Boot & Flogger, the original Davy’s Wine Bar, just a short walk from London Bridge Station. We’re delighted to welcome David Launay, as our special guest to Davy’s and host for the evening.

David is sales director at CA Grands Crus (the company that has owned Grand-Puy Ducasse since 2004), and he will be guiding us through a fantastic tasting of some truly special wines from the property. Amongst a range of recent vintages, attendees will taste a stunning 1986 from double magnum, to be served alongside the 2016 vintage during dinner, a fantastic comparison to see how the wines evolve across three decades.

Grand-Puy Ducasse is a quintessential representation of Pauillac, with its winery in the heart of the town and a patchwork of vineyard plots that border the likes of Mouton, Lafite and Pontet Canet. The resulting wines are a comprehensive expression of the terroir of this prestigious appellation.

After an aperitif, David will talk us through the history of the winery and what makes Grand-Puy Ducasse so special. We will hear about the various winemaking techniques and processes such as the renovation of the cellars in 2012 and the addition of new cement, egg-shaped vats. We’ll taste through some of the estate’s finest wines, including the aforementioned 1986 double magnum and enjoy a specially prepared four-course dinner with wine pairings. This is definitely a tasting not to be missed! Spaces are very limited so please book early to avoid disappointment.

Please note we do not send physical tasting tickets. Your name will be automatically added to our guest list. If you have any questions or need a printed version, please email orders@davy.co.uk and quote your order number.
