Product description
Owner Riccardo Lepri took over the estate after his grandfather Enos in 2001. Alongside winemaker Fabrizio Moltard, they decided to focus on producing mainly white wines, unusual for Tuscany’s up and coming Maremma region. Following an organic approach they make wines with concentrated flavours that started to generate interest amongst critics.
The name ‘Gessaia’ refer to the chalky subsoil which gives some smoky minerality to this wine. Bright, with a straw-yellow colour and greenish shimmers. The nose is intense and long lasting and delivers elderberry and citrus notes as well as white pulp fruits and smoky minerality. Dry and fresh on the palate, this is a delicate medium-bodied with a good balance.
