    Product description

This Chardonnay is crafted from a blend of Dijon, Wente, and Davis clones. Harvested in two phases, the first pick comes from the Phelps Creek estate, while the second is from higher-elevation vines, picked slightly later due to slower ripening. Grapes in full cluster gentle pressed, then élevage in 10% new French Oak barrels to enhance texture. Fermentation in barrel, the wine undergoes bâtonnage and 50% malolactic conversion. Aromas of ripe orchard fruit, with subtle hints of vanilla and toast from the oak. The palate is balanced, with flavors of pear, apple, and a touch of lemon curd, complemented by a smooth, rounded finish.

  • About the producer

    About the producer: Phelps Creek

Robert (Bob) Morus grew up in the San Francisco Bay area during the mid 60’s and 70’s, just when California food and wine culture took root. Later as a professional aviator, he expanded his horizons and founded a small, family vineyard in Hood River, Oregon.
After selling their early harvests to several notable producers in the nascent Oregon wine industry, Phelps Creek expanded their dreams into producing wine. The winery focuses on estate grown Pinot Noir and Chardonnay varietals, annually producing 5,000 cases. Intensive vineyard care combined with the Burgundian winemaking talents of Alexandrine Roy, a fourth-generation winemaker from Gevrey-Chambertin produce stunning results and garners international acclaim.
