Phelps Creek is a boutique winery located in Oregon (Columbia Gorge AVA) and focussing on Pinot Noir and Chardonnay. In the 2000s, owner Bob Morus collaborated with Alexandrine Roy, from famous Domaine Roy in Gevrey Chambertin, and now produces classic Burgundian wine style. He also makes some Gewurztraminer and Riesling.
The pinot noir is the estate’s benchmark. Each parcel is vinified separately and aged for 11 months in French oak barrels (10% new). Rich nose of red berry, leather, earth and tobacco. Medium-bodied with a velvety texture and notes of spice on the palate well-balanced with a polished acidity.
