Discover our newest exclusive addition to the Davy’s portfolio. This February we’re delighted to welcome Bob Morus to Davy’s for an exciting tasting & dinner. Bob is owner and winegrower at Phelps Creek Vineyards Estate, a small boutique winery in Oregon USA producing some of the state’s best Pinot Noirs and Chardonnays.
Bob was raised in California – growing up in a wine-producing region it had always been a dream to one day grow and create his own wines. He served in the U.S Airforce before commercially flying Boeing 777’s for Delta Airlines. He was eventually able to follow his dream, and in 1990 founded Phelps Creek Vineyards with his wife Lynette, where they realised the goal of raising both wine grapes and children. The winery has gone from strength to strength and now consists of 36 acres of breathtaking views across enviable terroir, producing rich and vibrant fruit.
Phelps Creek focuses on estate grown Pinot Noir and Chardonnay which is overseen by legendary Burgundian winemaker Alexandrine Roy, a fourth-generation winemaker from Gevrey-Chambertin. One of the fantastic wines to be tasted on the evening will be Cuvée Alexandrine Pinot Noir, a beautiful wine that’s the result of Alexandrine’s personal crafting from the best grapes, before meeting her final selection. We’ll also taste the ‘Lynette Chardonnay’, from the estate’s best Chardonnay vines, and named after Bob’s wife. We’ll explore the rest of the estate’s range, across Chardonnay, Pinot Noir as well as different varietals including Gewürztraminer and Riesling.
After an aperitif, Bob will talk us through the history of the winery and how Phelps Creek are creating some of Oregon’s best wines. We’ll then taste through some of the estate’s finest wines under Bob’s expert guidance and enjoy a specially prepared four-course dinner with pairings.
