Domaine des Carabiniers in Roquemaure, near Avignon has used organic viticulture since 1977 and is now certified 100% biodynamic. This approach, along with its use of traditional methods and an intense passion for winemaking has enabled it to produce some of the best wines of the region and one of Davy’s favourite Rhônes.
Harvested at night to prevent oxidation and keep the freshness of the aromas and, fermented with natural yeasts. Aromas of red berry fruits. Round and elegant with a well balanced acidity.
A lovely expressive nose; raspberry and a touch of blackcurrant. Really intense berry flavour with sappy berry acidity and finishes long. Lots of intensity, very dry, with a good sense of direction. 50% Grenache, 20% Cinsault, 15% Clairette, 15% Syrah, grown on limestone (lauzes) soils.- 91 pts Matt Walls, Decanter Magazine
