Join our Level 3 Award in Wines course hosted by our WSET qualified tutors. Building on the foundation laid by the WSET Level 2 Award in Wines, this course takes a deeper and broader dive into the world of wine. You’ll gain a thorough understanding of the various factors that impact the style, quality, and price of the principal still, sparkling, and fortified wines from around the world.

Whether you’re looking to advance your career in the wine industry or simply expand your knowledge and appreciation of wine, the Level 3 Award in Wines is the ideal next step in your wine education.
THE COURSE
This course covers key factors in wine production including location, grape growing, winemaking, maturation, and bottling. Participants will learn about the characteristics of still, sparkling, and fortified wines from around the world, and how to make appropriate wine recommendations. The WSET Level 3 Systematic Approach to Tasting Wine® (SAT) will be used to teach participants how to taste wines.
The course includes tutored tastings of 82 wines. Upon successful completion, participants will be able to confidently describe the characteristics of different wines and provide information on the factors influencing style, quality, and price.
EXAM
The course assessment has two essential units.
Unit 1 is a closed book theory examination in two parts, comprising 50 multiple-choice questions and four short written answer questions. A minimum mark of 55% is required to pass this unit.
Unit 2 is a blind tasting exam of two still wines, which must be completed in 30 minutes. A combined mark of 55% across both wines is needed to pass Unit 2.
