Located in the north-west corner of the Iberian Peninsula, Galicia has a strong maritime climate and is mainly suited to white grape varieties. The most popular is Albarino, a robust and thick-skinned grape well-adapted to the local harsh weather that produces elegant and intensely aromatic whites with the best examples to be found in Rias Baixas.
