Those looking for a veritable bargain need look no further. With high critic praise since their inaugural vintage, Ch. George 7 is already gathering recognition aplenty. It was recently awarded a medal at the most important wine competition in France, the 2020 Concours de Vin de Paris and has been selected as a Hot 50 Bordeaux wine competition winner. This is clearly a Château to start following now before demand and pricing pick up.
Wonderfully pleasing energy on the aromatic nose, floral notes, dark bramble-fruit and cherry and a wonderfully fresh mineral driven edge. Fine tannins and well-balanced acidity, pure and ripe fruit – blackberry and raspberry and just a touch of pepper spice and cedar on the finish. This has real verve and class. The 2019 George 7 offers earthy black fruit on the nose, well-defined but requiring time to open. The palate is medium-bodied with pliant tannins, lovely, pure, fleshy red and black fruit and seamlessly integrated oak on the finish. An excellent Fronsac in the making.- 91 pts Neal Martin
Lovely perfumed nose displaying fragrant scents of plum, cassis, elegant spices and smoky tones with wood nuances. Firm, concentrated and long- Silver Medal, Decanter World Wine Awards 2022
Bright zippy, great freshness to the fruit. A plush 100% Merlot, with layers of chocolate and damson that build up over the palate. Another good Fronsac in the 2019 vintage, from a new winery now in its 3rd vintage. 30% new oak.- 92 pts Jane Anson, Decanter
