Château Ormes de Pez is one of St-Estèphe’s leading Cru Bourgeois. It was bought by Jean-Charles Cazes in 1936 from Château Lynch-Bages and is today under the care of Jean-Michel Cazes who redeveloped and modernised the cellar in the early 80’s and, helped preserving the vineyard’s genetic heritage. The 35 hectares of vineyard is planted with 54% Cabernet Sauvignon, 37% Merlot, 7% Cabernet Franc and 2% Petit Verdot with an average age of 35 years old vine. The wines are aged for 15 months in French oak barrels, 45% of which are new.
