This great Pomerol estate has received a lot of attention from renown wine critics in recent years.

Made with 90% Merlot and 10% Cabernet Franc, the wine is aged for 18 months in oak of which 50% is new. A very generous wine with intense and pure blackberry fruits and hints of tobacco. Velvety on the palate with silky tannins and good length.

  • About the producer

    About the producer: Château Bonalgue

Château Bonalgue was founded by a veteran of Napoleon’s Grand Army, Captain Rabion, who inherited the land and built the castle. Located in Pomerol it was acquired by the Bourotte family in 1926 and today Jean-Baptiste, the third generation, is in charge of the estate. The vineyard is in excellent condition and the property continues to improve its winemaking methods. They hired famous eonologist Michel Rolland as a consultant in the past and, the wine has gained intensity and shows a great purity of fruits. The domaine has also received attention from wine critics, including Robert Parker, who stated ‘this over-achieving estate is one of the most consistent performers in Pomerol.” View our selection.
