Lafon Rochet has a great location, adjacent to Lafite Rotshchild and Cos d’Estournel in Saint Estephe. Later harvest and higher use of new oak have made the wine from Lafon Rocher more powerful and getting more attention from critics.
Les Pélerins is their second wine. Meaty on the nose yet with refined aromas of blackurrant and notes of tobacco. Full-bodied and robust with firm tannins and a good length.
The estate had been under the ownership of the Tesseron family since 1960, but in 2021, Château Lafon-Rochet was acquired by the Lorenzetti family. It now joins another trio of Bordeaux estates in the Vignobles Cruse-Lorenzetti portfolio: Châteaux d’Issan, Pédesclaux, and Lilian Ladouys. After a 24-year stint at neighbouring estate, Château Lafite-Rothschild, Christophe Congé is now the Managing Director at Château Lafon-Rochet – the 2023 will have been his second vintage at the estate.
The 45 hectares of vineyards are planted with 56% Cabernet Sauvignon, 40% Merlot, and 4% Cabernet Franc. The wines are matured in oak barrels for 18 months, of which 40% is new.

SALE OR RETURN is available by prior arrangement only and for orders of 96 bottles or more. All returns are at the customer’s expense. Returns must be made within 28 days of original delivery and goods must be in a resalable condition. We reserve the right to only refund up to 25% of the original order. CANCELLATIONS can be made within seven working days from receipt of delivery, provided that all wines are unopened and in their original condition. To cancel an order customers should contact the Customer Service team on 020 8858 6011 or email orders@davy.co.uk. It is your responsibility to keep the wines safe and in their original condition until collection is made.
TASTING CANCELLATIONS – full refunds can only be made where at least 7 days’ notice is given prior to the event date. Refunds will only be given after this time if we are able to re-sell your tickets. In the event that a tasting is cancelled, Davy’s shall offer customers a full refund.
