Argentina

A country containing the Patagonian desert and other vast areas of dry land, may not seem like the promised land for wine. Yet the Andes mountains provide Argentina with precious snow melt water and offer tremendous potential for winemaking. Mainly known for its full-bodied and excellent value Malbec, Cabernet Sauvignon is also now doing well in this beautiful country, as is Pinot Noir, Chardonnay and lesser known Bonarda and Torrontes. Mendoza is the best-known wine region but other areas such as San Juan and La Rioja are now producing wines worthy of attention. Read more…
